2D Sonic. Is. Back. As you can see from the brief glimmer of gameplay, the game is a sequel in the same 2D side-scroller we loved. These games will be available for WiiWare, the PlayStation Store, and Xbox Live Arcade as episodes that can be bought with the first being released Summer 2010. Rumour has it that the game will be released July, and will also be released on the iPhone.

Seems like sidekicks are out, and main characters are in. NGamer magazine tweeted that Sonic will also be in Mario Galaxy 2. This could just be NGamer mischief, but take a look at this Mario Galaxy 2 video and picture Sonic running up that ramp for those rings. *Coins.
