There’s a lot happening today.
- If you’re undecided about Mass Effect 2, its Metascore is at 97, with 25 reviews. Here is a great, spoiler-free review from Computer and Video Games, that states, “It’s as if BioWare compiled a big checklist of the first game’s bad points, and scratched them off one by one.”
- Total Film has an interview with Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci, as they discuss ideas for Star Trek 2. Basically they think Wrath of Khan was a successful sequel because it had a great villain. So they’re going to focus on that.
- Avatar reached the $1 billion mark faster than any film, and seemed destined to beat Titanic. Currently at $1.8 billion, it is at the cusp of doing so, and just set a record for biggest 6th weekend. The Oscar noms haven’t even been released yet. Scary.
- Meanwhile, Book of Eli dropped %52 from last weekend, and is projected to make $90 million. So much for precedent.
